We never got to see the house, so I can't comment on it. More than three months after booking, and after paying a 50% deposit, our reservation was cancelled. That left our large group scrambling during one of the busiest weeks of the year, with non-refundable flights and ski passes already arranged and nowhere to stay. If you book here, I'd suggest speaking directly with the owner or agent to confirm the booking. Don't rely on an automated reply from a booking site, even if you've already paid.

We booked the whole place for the Tokyo crusaders ski trip and it worked really well for our team and guests. The kitchen got plenty of use, and the onsen was a welcome bonus after skiing all day. Staff were helpful and accommodating throughout. The crusaders would be glad to return next year.

We had a great stay near the Goryu lifts. The managing staff provided strong support, and the facilities included a games room, onsen and commercial kitchen, along with what you'd expect from an upper end lodge. There's also a courtesy car available if you want to use it.

Maple Chalet had plenty of room and useful amenities for our group of friends and families. We made ourselves at home, with the kitchen, barbecue, dining area, onsen and extra rooms. A perfect stay, thank you!

Hakuba is a magical place, and Maple Chalet is a gem. I've stayed in three houses in Japan, and this is one of the best. Come with a big group and enjoy the space, cooking and barbecue.
