The Ridge Hotel & Apartments

James deserves a big thanks for the warm welcome and hospitality. He picked us up from the train station and even let us hitch a ride back to the hotel from the bus terminal. We stayed at The Ridge for a week in Hakuba during snow season and thought highly of the team, hotel, and service. It’s in a nice, quiet spot, with Rhythm across the road for gear hire, a short walk to the Kokusai & Happo slopes, and the main bus stop.

The staff were amazing and sorted out dinner, onsen, and lift bookings for us. Thank you so much, Yori, for driving us and our luggage down to the bus terminal. The rooms were spacious and very luxe, and breakfast each morning was decent. The location is perfect, just a short walk to Kokusai lift for skiing and snowboarding. I’d recommend staying here, and we’ll be back!

Pei and her team made our stay easy from beginning to end. They arranged transfers and a car rental, got us a discount on ski gear rental, and served great breakfasts. Of all the places we stayed in Japan, this was our favorite. The rooms were big and had lots of storage space and clothes hangers, plus an incredible Mountain View. There are complimentary laundry facilities and a drying room for snow gear. I couldn’t recommend this place more, and we’ll be back.

The Ridge is gorgeous and luxurious, with spacious rooms and views of Happo One and even some local snow monkeys. Pei and the staff went above and beyond, arranging everything from station pickups to dinner drop offs. The location is great, with the bus stop for different resorts just outside the driveway. There’s a dry room and free laundry, and some rental companies even collect their gear from the hotel at the end of the rental period. Breakfast is complimentary and was great. Every detail felt perfect, and I’d highly recommend it as a place to stay in Hakuba. I’ll definitely return. Thanks again to the amazing staff at The Ridge.
