Being so close to Hamamatsu station makes this a handy place for tourists and other travelers. The room was clean and nicely arranged, and the service, breakfast included, was great.

The bed looked so inviting, though it was a bit firm, and the single pillow wasn't soft. I especially liked the spot for hanging my suit and jacket. It was a small room, but had plenty of useful things: a TV, fridge, kettle, hair dryer, iron, phone, air conditioner and heater, humidifier, and a little safe. There were also neatly arranged books, tea bags, and a nice mirror. The room was clean and felt like home. The front desk staff were kind and patient with guests who don't speak or understand Japanese. Their English wasn't perfect, but was enough to communicate, and their gestures helped a lot.

Toyoko-Inn had the usual good facilities, including free parking and a business centre, and the service was great. I did miss having English newspapers, and breakfast could be better. 😉

The reception ladies were terrific and went out of their way to help me, as always. Hamamatsu is a nice little city and well worth visiting.
