Hanamaki Onsen Kashoen

The delicious kaiseki, beautiful Japanese gardens, and peaceful forest view from our room made this stay special. My wife and I spent two nights here and enjoyed every minute. A big thank you to the front-line staff and everyone behind the scenes. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Tohohu, and we'll definitely come back.

The rooms, service, and atmosphere were all great, and I had a good experience. It could be a little difficult if you don't know Japanese. The area seems geared more toward local visitors and Japanese guests.

Beautiful grounds, good food, and warm hospitality made this a relaxing, pampering ryokan stay. There was a lot of attention to detail to keep things comfortable. The onsen water left my skin feeling silky smooth. I can't recommend this place enough.

I went back to the outdoor bath three times during my stay. It was relatively small, but so peaceful. With the forest and greenery behind it, I felt myself unwind completely. The Japanese maple leaves were still green in summer, and watching them calmed me down after the journey. Although this is a fairly large ryokan, it feels private and exclusive, with the VIP treatment you'd expect from an upscale place. The staff escorted us to our room, made tea, and explained what to expect during the stay. Dinner was served in our room, and the dishes were gorgeous to look at and just as tasty. The staff all deserve an award for their effort. I'd highly recommend it and will return myself.
