The house is right on the beach, so getting to the sand and water is effortless. We took a taxi or bus from Kamakura station and found it easy to reach. The living room and master bedroom both face the sea, and in good weather you can probably see mount Fuji to the west. There's also a great view of the beach from the large terrace Onsen, which fills quickly and feels incredibly relaxing. A small Torii Gate stands on a distant patch of land. The terrace is open to beachgoers and neighbors, though it's slightly raised above the beach and the neighbors don't seem to come by often. Guests are asked to wear swimwear, which I would've wanted to do anyway. It's a lovely old Japanese-style two-story house with wonderful interiors. There are two bedrooms, each with two beds, plus a carpeted living room with a low table and floor cushions and a separate regular dining area. The kitchen has all the cutlery, plates, cups, and other basics you need, as well as a small oven, microwave, and kettle. The bathroom is spacious and has a washing machine and dryer. Air conditioning is in every room and can handle the poor insulation upstairs, but the ground floor might struggle to stay warm when it's in the single digits outside. The place is fairly expensive, so I'd recommend sharing it with four people. There are lots of signs and notices setting out rules and warning about low doorways. They may be useful and necessary, but they take away a little from the house's look. A big rulebook and instruction set comes with the place. I imagine that's because of past bad experiences. It's sad when tourists are drawn to Japanese culture but then can't follow a few simple rules and behave inconsiderately. I wasn't sure at first whether it deserved five stars. I couldn't get the heating to work, so we emailed the owner. She replied within five minutes, and a kind woman arrived within fifteen to show me that it did work, and I just hadn't pointed the remote at the device correctly. I really appreciate the help. For someone in Japan to leave work without notice to help a foreign guest is a big commitment and very unusual. I deeply appreciate that hospitality. Thank you for having us.

The location, interior, and facilities were all great, and the nearby ocean view was fantastic. I also liked how the interior kept the old-fashioned charm of a traditional Japanese house while bringing it up to date. But the outdoor jacuzzi was in rough shape. The wood was rotten, and I was shocked to find woodlice living inside. I couldn't get rid of the bugs, so I had to bathe with them, and it bothered me too much to relax. I'd been looking forward to it after seeing the website photos, but they seem to show the place as it was when the building was completed several years ago. Thank you.

The room was very humid and sticky because the sheets and futon felt damp, which left me with a very negative impression. The inn's location was great, with the ocean right in front. Some interior details, like the wallpaper pattern and curtain color, weren't to my taste, but the bathroom and other wet areas had been newly renovated, and I was comfortable during my stay.

Waking up in a fluffy bed to the morning sun through the big bedroom window, with the ocean spread out in front, was amazing. The room itself felt spacious and open, and there was a terrace jacuzzi for relaxing while looking at the water. The bathroom and changing room were roomy too, with a washer and dryer to clean up clothes right away after a day at the beach. It felt like a good fit for families with kids. This was my first stay, and I'd definitely come back.

We had good weather all three days, and the Kawazu cherry blossoms in Kamakura were in full bloom and beautiful. After sightseeing in Kamakura, we came back to relax and watch the sunset from the bath. The in-room heated bath was warm even at night, which my parents in their 80s really appreciated. We were three generations traveling together, and the place worked well for us. The kitchen was easy to use and had everything, including clean dishes, a hot plate, and even a coffee maker. From the bed, the ocean view was spectacular. The bedding, bath towels, and hand towels were all fluffy and clean. We brought a futon dryer just in case, and there was also a gas dryer that dried our laundry quickly. Hayama Marina, Hikage Chaya, Genbei-san, the donut shop, and Morito Shrine were all within walking distance, so we enjoyed strolling around. The parking lot and bus stop were nearby too. I plan to stay here again.
