Guesthouse Basho

We had a really restful stay. The owner had cleaned the room well, and we spent a lot of time relaxing in the living room. There are two rooms with two beds in each, plus a pool that must be lovely in summer. We visited at the end of the year, though, and it was too cold to swim. We also had a barbecue. I thought I’d need to buy charcoal, but there was some left over and I was able to use it, which was lucky. It’s best to bring your ingredients, since we had to drive 30 minutes to Nago for groceries.

Our kids swam in the pool every day and had a great time with fireworks at night. They already want to come back to Okinawa and stay at Basho again. Honestly, Basho is why they come here! The garden and rooftop both look out toward the ocean, and butterflies kept visiting the flowers. It’s a peaceful area, and during our several-night stay the rooms and pool were cleaned each time. We were very comfortable, and had such a wonderful visit. Thank you. It’s the best place, plain and simple.

The garden was gorgeous, and it was clear the owner had put a lot of work into it. The place itself is spacious and beautiful, with a pool and rooftop terrace to enjoy. There aren’t many sightseeing spots close by, so getting around takes a while if that’s what you’re here for lol. There’s a lovely beach nearby too, but I couldn’t find the way in and eventually gave up 💣

The view of the ocean from the private pool was incredible. Such an amazing villa!
