Mibunoshou

Dinner and breakfast were both so delicious, and the room and onsen were wonderful too. This was our first ryokan stay, and the staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable and make it a great experience. We hope we can come back!

The service and food were amazing ^_^. It’s a quiet inn, and the views are incredible.

The salt-boiled red snapper was the highlight for me. I’d contacted the inn ahead of time to request it, since it’s a dish you can only enjoy here. The seasoning was just right, and the fish was so tender. I’d come back for that alone. I’ve been interested in this inn for a while and finally made it there. I visit the Izu Peninsula about once a month, and had grown a little tired of the simmered and shabu-shabu-style red snapper that’s often the main attraction, even though each inn puts its own spin on it. The service was excellent. They seemed to understand what we wanted and adjusted to suit us. My one regret is that I couldn’t finish dinner. When I visit Izu, I usually skip breakfast and lunch that day so I can really enjoy the inn’s dinner, but this time I drank a lot of beer after arriving. I’d have liked the hot spring in the room to be a bit bigger. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve tried to avoid contact with other guests as much as possible. Next time, we’d like to stay for several nights in the colder season and take things at a slower pace.

My father drove me there twice, and next time I’m hoping my boyfriend will take me, maybe for an anniversary. Getting to the inn might be tricky for a first-time visitor, though. My father says the shuttle bus has passed us several times, so it seems they do pick people up from the station. Check with the inn. My mother loved this hot spring inn and went often, so my father took me. It really felt like the kind of place my mother would love. There aren’t many guest rooms, and we hardly ran into anyone on the way to the large public bath. It’s easy to relax and do nothing in your room, have meals there, or enjoy the hot spring bath. The food, room, and baths were all excellent. They served so much delicious food that we couldn’t finish it, and we were very satisfied.
