The location worked well for getting to the train, shopping, restaurants, and Hikone castle. The hotel also has a handy clean towel system, and I bought gifts at the hotel gift shop. I was comfortable throughout my stay, and the booking was great value, though the bathrooms may feel small to many westerns. The staff were welcoming and all comfortable speaking English. My friend and I were pleased with how clean the rooms and hotel stayed. There are useful facilities on different floors, including bathrooms in the lobby, a microwave, laundry, and vending machines. I’d recommend it to others.

The hotel is easy to reach from Hikone station, with most of the walk sheltered. Hikone castle is walkable too, and guests can borrow bikes for free. I booked about 3 weeks ahead and got a pretty good price. My basic room was small but had everything I needed, though the bathtub wasn’t long enough for an adult to stretch out fully. The service was friendly and efficient. I liked shopping in the hotel store, which has lots of cute hikone cat souvenirs and other specialties from Shiga.

A nice hotel within walking distance of local attractions, with plenty of restaurants nearby. If you’re visiting during Golden week, I’d recommend making restaurant reservations.

There are plenty of restaurants and places to drink nearby, and the hotel is very close to JR Hikone train station. I had a small non-smoking room.

We were lucky to be given one of the hotel's two special "Hikoyan" rooms for our one-night stay. The staff were kind and helpful, and suggested a good place for dinner. The room was clean, the blanket comfortable, and the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were nice too. Extra pillows and pajamas are available in the hallway on each floor, and there’s free parking.
