It’s in a lovely valley surrounded by lush forest, not far from Himeji castle, and the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean, but need repairs. There’s no WiFi outside the lobby, which is very inconvenient when travelling. The Japanese people I was with also said mobile coverage was very poor. The food was mediocre, and the place seemed to lack character. For what’s on offer, it’s too expensive. Avoid.

The facilities are basic, but the cost is low. The pool is a nice way to cool off, or to warm up in winter. A good place to bring children who are beginners.

Yumesaki is an area I love. The resort is out in the countryside, but its location still makes it a great place. The food and amenities are of a high standard.
