Pension Izumi

We stayed on December 28, 2025, and the owners were all kind and friendly. The inn is old, but it was meticulously maintained. The furnishings and wallpaper felt carefully chosen and made the room relaxing. Double-door windows and gas air conditioning kept the guest room warm. The changing room was a little cold, though the bath water was warm and kept clean through circulation. I’d booked a plan with breakfast and worried about dinner, but ROCK, a well-known local restaurant, is within walking distance. I chose a plan that included a 2,000 yen voucher to use there. The morning was clear, and we could watch the stars from the inn’s parking lot. Breakfast had a generous serving of fresh highland vegetables in the salad. It was filling, and the dressing was so tasty I finished it all. I’d definitely like to stay again when I visit Kiyosato. Thanks for your hospitality.

The inn did feel its age, which is why I took off one star, but having two bathrooms was good. I usually just shower and get out, while my grandson enjoyed soaking in the tub and said it felt great. There was plenty for breakfast, including lots of vegetables. The 2,000 yen ticket per person for ROCK was also handy, and we were glad to use it.

The owner’s affection for Kiyosato came through while he showed us photos of places to visit during breakfast. His suggestions were useful for planning our trip, and the meal itself was delicious, starting with a fresh salad. Some of the vegetables were new to me, and he explained they were home-grown and not commonly found in supermarkets. My friend and I were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly “Welcome to visit~☺️.” He was so kind and welcoming. I’d definitely come back to this pension. Thank you very much🙏✨️

We didn’t get to see all of Kiyosato, so my wife and I were already talking about returning for a longer stay on the way home. The owner’s tips helped us explore different places on our autumn foliage trip, even though the leaves were still a little early this year. Mt. Fuji, the Yatsugatake Mountains, and the stars at night were beautiful. Thank you very much.
