Hotel Okunakayama Kogen

I went there for the Idemitsu ihatove trial competition.

Everything was very clean!

The local feel really came through in the large public bath and sauna, where lots of locals were polite and well-mannered. The food was delicious, and the front desk and shuttle staff were very kind. The facilities show some wear, but everything was kept very clean and worked fine. I loved the rooms and baths, the ski slopes across the mountain behind the hotel, and the morning sunlight coming in from the entrance. It felt like a place where I could really settle in, and I'd definitely stay again. [Additional Information] This isn't about the hotel itself, but the hotel is in Ichinohe Town, Ninohe District, Iwate Prefecture, the hometown of NPB Giants player Yuharu Nishidate. A sign supporting Nishidate was displayed throughout the hotel. His 2025 season wasn't as successful as the previous year, but I hope he can follow in the footsteps of his Iwate predecessors in the MLB.

It's a traditional hot spring accommodation attached to a ski resort. I'm not sure what inspections they carry out, but it seems they check the hot springs for hygiene. When I visited, the hot spring facility in the annex was closed to the public because of a bacterial infection.
