APA Hotel Owariichinomiya Station

You’re right across from the station, which is a great spot. The room was a little small, but everything else was perfect.

The first-floor restaurant was closed for construction, and nobody explained why. There are plenty of shops nearby, though, so it wasn’t a problem. The staff were okay. The hotel is right by the station, but it’s hard to spot until you get quite close.

There’s no large public bath, and the fridge is switched off when you check in. The rooms themselves are clean, despite the building’s plain, sturdy exterior. It’s easy to find from the station, with lots of restaurants nearby and a 7-Eleven right across the street, so meals aren’t an issue. The price is reasonable, especially with APA Direct. If you don’t need to stay in Nagoya city, it’s good value.

The building feels old, but it’s fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep. I stayed several nights and the cleaning was thorough each time. You can hear people talking in the hallway, though it didn’t get too noisy at night. There are lots of restaurants around, so dinner was easy to find. Parking is cheap if there’s a space beside the hotel, and the station is close, which makes the location handy. There’s also a smoking area on the first floor. Just a typical business hotel.
