Preta Torami - Hostel

You can rent a surfboard or bike here, and the beach is just a short ride away. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, and speaks excellent English. What an awesome place, highly recommend!

The living room is spacious and has a homey feel, and the kitchen is open for everyone to use. There are common condiments and utensils, plus a fridge, small toaster, water heater and microwave. You can also barbecue outside, but bring your own charcoal or wood. The accommodation is cheap, around ¥2.5k per person per night. It's a bunk bed and capsule setup, so it's enough if you're comfortable sleeping in different situations. The bed is spacious, the sheets were clean, and the futon was warm enough for the cold season. There's a heater in the hallway and kitchen. A toolbox by the bed can hold small important things like a phone and wallet; luggage goes on an open designated rack in the hallway. Wi-Fi is available, and there are two toilets and two shower rooms. Towels and toothbrushes are available to rent or buy. You can also rent a surfboard or bike. Parking is available, but could be limited when the accommodation is full. It's close to the beach and restaurants.

It's an easy eight-minute walk from the train station. The owner has bikes you can use and surf rentals, which was perfect since I had a conference beforehand and couldn't bring my own board. Lawson konbini is conveniently nearby, too. Check out toki for dinner if you're here. Great hostel.

The owner smiles a lot and is really thoughtful. I came here to surf, and he gave me great recommendations. Then a typhoon came through and stopped all the trains, so I had no way to get to the airport and was about to miss my flight. Out of nowhere, he offered me a ride. It's about an hour each way by car, and he only asked me to pay for gas. Best service I've ever received, hands down. I'll definitely come back.
