Ichirinokogen Hotel Roan

The onsen was especially welcome after our journey of more than six hours from Sapporo. In the cold winter weather, soaking there felt wonderful, and the quiet atmosphere had none of the rush of busier tourist spots. We booked the onsen package with halal wagyu dinner and breakfast. The dinner felt special, with tender, flavorful wagyu prepared with care. Given the price and the hotel's out-of-the-way location, we appreciated how thoughtfully they accommodated Muslim guests. Hakusan Ichirino Roan Hotel sits in a peaceful mountain setting surrounded by nature, close to the ski resort. It has the warm, understated feel of a traditional Japanese ryokan and seemed well looked after. The nearby slopes have already made me think about coming back for a ski trip. Service was sincere and welcoming throughout, even with the language differences. The healing robot was an extra touch of calm, and we thought it was very cute. For a quiet Japanese onsen stay with considerate halal dining, this place is well worth visiting. It brings together tradition, comfort, and thoughtful hospitality.

You can ski almost straight in and out, since the hotel is right across from the ski field. The onsen is cozy, and the service was nice, with both English and Chinese working fine. In winter, you have the skiing, the views, and good food. For what it offers, the price is worthwhile.

You can book a private onsen for free at reception, which was a nice bonus. The food was authentic and really good too. The hotel is right beside the ski field, and the area feels local, so there aren't lift lines.
