What a beautiful ryokan, with such lovely owners. The seafood is special too, and the whole place feels right at home in this remarkable region. Five stars don’t really cover the experience. It’s a wonderful stop on the way to Kyushu, and the scenic slopes out from Yawatahama are a favorite with bikers.

That bath was exactly what we needed after a long, hot day on the bikes. Then dinner just kept coming, each dish fresh seafood, beautifully presented and delicious. There’s no menu, and I felt lucky to have had the meal here. I don’t think I’ve had seafood like this anywhere else. The sashimi plate left me speechless. The place itself is beautiful, too.

The seafood dinner was generous and delicious. We were served a large plate of local fish sashimi for the two of us, along with two big steamed fish and a tasty steamed egg custard. Best ryokan seafood meal I’ve had for both portion size and taste.

I showed up with nowhere to stay, and even though they were full, the kindest lady helped me search for somewhere else. When I gave up and decided to camp at a nearby beach, she let me use their onsen for free and even gave me a towel. Come here!!
