Business Hotel Hane Ise Inter

We left a day early and moved to another hotel because we couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling and wanted somewhere more comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if comfort is important, especially with a partner or family. The room we got didn’t match the booking photos: it was gloomy, the furniture was old rather than refurbished, and the walls, roof and ceiling were all green, even the shampoos, which creeped us out. We also felt uneasy being next to a graveyard. Strange noises came from the room now and then, and once the radio suddenly switched on by itself while we were across the room. The onsen/bath is only for men, something we hadn’t known when booking. The location was okay, near the train station, but trains only run twice an hour. A bus to Ise Jingu comes once an hour. There’s a convenience store about a 10-minute walk away, and not much else, it feels like the countryside. The good parts were the lively, friendly breakfast staff and delicious food. We were also grateful that the front desk staff carried our luggage to the room when we brought it over before check-in. A few changes could help: show accurate room photos when booking, add lighting, especially by the entrance and bed, and consider warmer yellow bulbs. The all-green rooms could use a change, and the old radios should go. More energetic welcome greetings from the front desk would also be nice.
