The staff were really friendly, and if you're here to snorkel or scuba dive, they're diving instructors too. It's about a 15-minute walk to the ferry terminal and less than 3 minutes to a coin laundry. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance. Great value for money!

The price felt fair for this guesthouse. The floorboards creaked noticeably, and the place faces a main road, so traffic noise may bother some people. I slept well because the mattress was the same kind I have at home. You can only lock the room from the inside. There's a shared shower, but no towels are provided. The AC is coin-operated, which could be inconvenient in the hot, humid summer. If you need a shower, you could use the bath facilities at Art Hotel Ishigaki Island or pick somewhere else with a shower.
All the staff were so friendly. My son was the only Korean who came with me, but I had no trouble playing with him. I saw a sea turtle and lots of fish, and I want to come back next year.
At just 2500 yen a night, this guesthouse has some of the cheapest rates on Ishigaki Island. You can see why, though: the place is pretty run-down. The floor creaks like it might give way, and the shower room feels like a solitary confinement cell. After sleeping in the bed, my body was incredibly itchy. I had bites in several places on the inside of my pants, so maybe there were fleas and ticks... 😂🥺
A bit rickety, sure, but it was incredibly cheap and great value. I loved it!
