Glamping Resort YOKABUSHI

There’s laundry on site, though the dryers didn’t work very well. With all the sun, we could dry our clothes outside. Our room was spacious, had a little private patio, and a really comfortable bathtub. Breakfast comes as a set meal, so if you usually eat a lot in the morning, you may want to plan on an early lunch.

The rooms are spacious, and the grounds are beautiful, with a pool and a path down to the beach. Still, I didn’t feel we got our money’s worth. The beach mentioned in the advertising was dirty, with plastic and other rubbish washed ashore. I know that isn’t their fault, but another resort we visited kept its beach spotless. Our room wasn’t cleaned during the stay, and with tiled floors, it felt sticky by the second day. There was no broom or cleaning gear, so we couldn’t tidy it ourselves. Breakfast and BBQ both cost extra and had to be booked; for the BBQ, you can only choose the hotel’s course, with no option to bring your own food. It’s a lovely place, but the stay didn’t live up to my expectations.

The only thing I missed was an airport pickup. The resort is far away and buses don’t come often. Otherwise, it was very nice: the rooms are roomy and well furnished, and the nearby beach is a great spot to watch the sunrise. We also had dinner in a really nice setting.

The stars were amazing, and the place felt magical. Our villa was perfect for the three nights we stayed, the staff were nice, and the empty beaches gave us a real chance to be alone by the water. The sea was over 30 degrees and quite shallow. There aren’t other hotels nearby, just small rental villas. The BBQ was good quality, and they adjusted the menu so we weren’t eating only meat every day. I’m keeping my five stars and was happy with the stay, but there are things I’d have liked to know beforehand. A private beach far from everything can also mean a dirty beach, with lots of plastic and other trash, so expect to clean your own spot. There’s coral all over it, so bring sea shoes rather than sandals. The hotel sells them, but sizes are limited. A taxi from the airport cost 3,000 yen less than I expected. Without a car, it’s hard to get around. I didn’t try the bus, but I think it runs infrequently. There are no shops within walking distance; you can get chips, beer, and water at the hotel, but not much else. For other supplies or getting around, you’ll need a rental car or a taxi. Taxis are limited in this part of the island and can take 30-40 minutes to arrive.
