I kept adding another day to my booking because I felt so at home at Asibina Guesthouse. Meg and her lovely family made the shared spaces feel welcoming, and their two children were very polite. When I arrived on the island without a place booked, Meg kindly accepted me for a dorm bed that same night when I knocked on her door. :) I had a bed in the mixed dorm and spent most of my 7-night stay alone in the room. The kitchen was fully equipped, clean, and pleasant to use. There are two bathrooms with great shower pressure, three toilets, two washing machines, and a dryer. Everything was clean and worked well. Private rooms and a female-only dorm are available too. The guesthouse has a large private parking lot for cars or scooters. It's about an 8-minute walk from central Ishigaki, close to everything but away from a busy street. Meg, thank you and your family for hosting me. I'll definitely come back if I visit Ishigaki again.

Megami and her family were so welcoming and helpful. The area is quiet, and the price was very reasonable. My Japanese-style room had a comfortable, cosy mattress, and the shared bathroom and toilet were spotless each time I used them. It's a 2-minute walk to the airport bus stop and 12 minutes on foot to the port. I parked one evening in the car park opposite Asibina for a reasonable fee. I highly recommend this place.

I've stayed here twice already and will come back when I'm in Ishigaki again. The house is very clean, in a great location, and everything feels thoughtfully provided. The atmosphere is welcoming, thanks to the sweetest family running the hostel.

This guest house was a real find in Ishigaki, about a 10-minute walk from cafes, restaurants, and the lively town center. The house is spotless from the dorms to the bathrooms, and the air conditioning made it cool and comfortable in the heat. The staff were friendly and helpful at all hours, and check-in was easy. The tatami mats, hammocks, and lovely art give the place an authentic Japanese feel. The kitchen is huge and well equipped, with three fridges, including one for beer, rice cookers, toaster ovens, and lots of cooking space. Just remember it's a guest house, so you'll be sharing a dorm. I had a great stay, and it exceeded my expectations. It was comfortable and social, and I really enjoyed it.
