Ishigaki Sunset Cove

The beach felt heavenly, and Josh at the front desk was always ready to help straight away. The staff were kind, the rooms clean, and breakfast delicious. It was a 10/10 stay in an incredible location, and somehow felt like home even this far away. I'd give the hotel 15/10 if I could. Don't hesitate, come to the SUNSET COVE! ❤️

The location was beautiful, and the private beaches right behind the hotel felt like a dream. We're so glad we chose to stay here. Josh was incredibly supportive and went out of his way to make everything easier and better. Thanks for having us.

We were a group of seven staying for a week in villa c, so I can't speak to the single rooms. The quiet, remote part of the island was lovely, and the property is thoughtfully laid out, with sea views and easy routes to the beach, pool, and dining area. We got picked up at the airport and had a convenient shuttle back on departure day. You'll definitely need a car, but they have a flexible rental service. The service was very friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious, and Josh gave us loads of tips that helped us explore the island. The kayaks are included, just ask at the front desk. Taking them out on the ocean for sunset or into the mangroves is well worth it. We were really happy with our stay and would recommend it.

Josh and Claudinéia made the stay warm and welcoming, and we'd happily recommend the hotel and Ishigaki Island. We loved the northern part of the island, with its wild nature and fewer people; the south is still reachable in about 30 minutes by car. Josh rents out several cars directly, which saves the hassle of booking at the airport, and the hotel also handles guest airport transfers. The hotel sits beside a lovely private beach, and at low tide you can reach a larger beach to the left. Together with the pool, that makes it great for families, and kids are warmly welcomed. Josh shares tips for places to see and restaurants, and can help with reservations when it's difficult to get through by phone. The rooms are quiet, with a great view and very good beds. We wished for a little more shelf storage, but the rest made up for it. Beach towels and daily cleaning are provided. Breakfast is fresh and non-Japanese, with eggs cooked just right, plus fruit, bread, and freshly baked cakes. It was a wonderful start to the day.
