The host was friendly, and there were plenty of activities and places to eat nearby. The beach is close and has a great view, though it feels less private than the one at the other yoisama vacation home where we stayed, the sunset and sunrise location. This place has its own charm, and it’s newer, larger, and has more amenities, including a death slide lol. I’d recommend it.

We spent two weeks at Sunset Beach House and loved how peaceful it was. The beach is right across the road. It’s public, but stayed very quiet, and we spent hours snorkeling, swimming, and reading. The sunsets were amazing too. We also enjoyed the outdoor grill, Sumibi BBQ, and wood-fired brick oven. Ikumi, Eito, and their staff were all wonderful. The house has everything you need, including a fridge stocked with condiments and sauces, which was a big help. We highly recommend it for anyone who likes quiet and relaxation away from the busy tourist areas.

The hosts’ care showed in so many small things, from the thoughtful setup of the house to the toys, activities, and swing set they had ready for our children. They built the property from scratch, we heard, and you can feel the attention and affection they put into it. The amenities were especially well considered. Our check-in was significantly delayed, but the host waited at the property and welcomed us warmly. We had expected to check ourselves in, so that kindness really moved us. They explained that they wanted us to feel comfortable and at home. After checkout, they continued to send helpful messages and links about tourist spots and other places we were interested in. We’ve stayed in luxury hotels and many Airbnbs in Japan and abroad, but this was the best accommodation I’ve experienced by far. I can’t think of anything that needs improving. To me, this is true Japanese hospitality, and I think accommodation operators around the world should stay here once and experience it. I’m deeply grateful for the wonderful memories.

The staff were so thoughtful. They had pineapple and mango ready for us, which was such a nice surprise since my husband loves fruit and the shops we passed were closed. They also let us leave our luggage before check-in and come inside to change. They welcomed us so warmly. After checkout, they even let us wash our feet after swimming in the sea. Thank you for being kind right to the end! The house was spacious enough for the kids to run around even on rainy days, which made things easy and stress-free. Yoisamaa had toys, Lego, picture books for toddlers, and unlimited anime on Netflix. The slide from the second floor to the first looked fun for the children, though it was too steep for me to try lol. We also found so much useful gear in the house: snorkels, wetsuits, life jackets, inflatable rings, fins, sandbox sets, electric pumps, and lots of sandals. There was more than one of many items, so you really don’t need to bring much. If you’re unsure, call and ask. The staff are helpful and know their stuff. Two washing machines and two dryers running every day were a huge help too. The condiments were another surprise. I’d heard the place had most things as long as you brought ingredients, but there was so much, even sesame oil for the frozen dumplings I was making lol. They also had rice, so salted rice balls were an option when we ran short on other ingredients. I’ve been to Okinawa several times, but this was the most satisfying stay I’ve had. I love the sea and starry sky in northern Ishigaki Island, and Yoisamaa let us enjoy both. I’m glad we stayed here and hope to see you again!

We were nine friends and their families, staying for three nights, and had a wonderful time. The owners were incredibly kind. The lodge was spotlessly clean, and the beach was beautiful and only a 30-second walk away. I wandered over in my swimsuit every day lol. There was plenty of beach gear, two washers and two dryers, and almost everything we needed for cooking, including appliances, utensils, seasonings, miso, and rice. I did so much laundry I used all the provided fabric softener, sorry about that 🥹 The owners also lit the fire in the handmade garden pizza oven for us. Making pizza together was such a treat. There’s so much to like about this beach house, and I definitely want to come back. ♡
