The bed was large and comfortable, and the place was clean. The owner was very helpful. The bathroom is next door but outside the building, so at night you have to step into the cold and dark to reach it. That was inconvenient. Also, late arrivals are charged 1,000 yen for each hour of delay, though this fee wasn't listed in the facility policy. You'll need a taxi to get to the station or port; neither is within walking distance.

We spent a great stay at active Life Yado and were warmly welcomed into its well-designed common room. On our first day, Leo guided us on a SUP trip in the ocean. We also had seafood in Onagawa and picked up food to eat at the nearby beach. Seeing how the local community recovered from the 2011 tsunami was moving, and the Museum in Ishinomaki is well worth visiting.

The owner was friendly, and the room and common space were both neat. It's a cozy place to unwind, with everything you need and a kitchen you can use.
