Ito Station Hotel

The hotel is right opposite the bus and rail station, which made it handy for exploring Ito. We visited from England and stayed two nights in Nov 18, paying about £30ea per night for two quite reasonable single rooms. At that price, we couldn't find anything to complain about. We don't smoke, so it might be worth booking a non-smoking room ahead of time. Recomend.

The rooms are okay, but they're so noisy that the street might be quieter if you're trying to sleep. The Internet barely exists too.

The public baths and the hotel's location near the station were useful, and for someone mainly focused on getting out and enjoying a trip, I can see the value. My room was like an old business hotel from the Showa era, though, and felt dated. It was disappointing that I couldn't fill the bathtub with hot water, even if the hot spring area means you can use the public baths. I was in a single room in the main building for business, just needing somewhere to sleep before heading back to Tokyo the next day. For that purpose it was okay, but the experience will depend on what you expect and why you're staying. Sleep was the big problem. There seemed to be almost no soundproofing, either between the hallway and room or from outside. People were talking and laughing loudly at 2:00 and 4:00 AM, then groups leaving at 5:00 AM were saying goodbye and chatting energetically in the corridor. I couldn't sleep at all. I could also clearly hear speeding motorcycles outside, so I wonder if the whole building is poorly soundproofed, or if it was just my room.

There's nothing good I can say about this hotel. The facilities are awful and the price feels high for what you get. The bathtub can't be used, so there's only a shower, and I'm not even sure they really have hot springs. The WiFi drops out right away. The air conditioning also seems to be controlled by the hotel and switches off by itself after about an hour.
