Izu Dog Pension Kotobuki Base

The dog loves the dog bed here and relaxed on it last time too. We came back for a second visit with my four-year-old. I checked ahead and was glad to learn we could bring our child's food. He's a picky eater, and I would've felt bad if he left the meal they prepared. The dog run is spacious and great, though watch out for mosquitoes this time of year. I think insect repellent is a must. The food was delicious, especially the black rockfish sashimi and appetizers. They offered our child juice, too, and I thought the owners were very kind. Everyone was smiling and the service was wonderful. 😀

The care here extends to dogs as well as people, and that really impressed me. Dinner and breakfast were so tasty we finished everything. The bathroom was clean and spacious, and the bed was soft enough for us to sleep soundly. My dog spotted the bed in our room and fell for it right away, then slept soundly too, lol. I'd love to stay here again next time I visit Izu.✨️✨️✨️

My mother and I checked in and immediately started saying we wanted to come back. We stayed on a weekday with our dog, and after reading reviews of the many dog-friendly places in the area, I'm glad we chose this one. The staff were warm and kept a comfortable distance from our timid dog, so he seemed able to relax. The building has an American-style exterior and interior, and English radio and music in the dining room made me feel like I was in America. Breakfast and dinner were both filling and tasty. We picked alfonsino sashimi and shabu-shabu for dinner, which especially delighted my mother, who loves sea bream. We also tried both private baths and used them about four times altogether. Having a private bath in the large one was nice. I definitely plan to return.

The dog run was huge and beautifully kept. It even had a pet pool, plus a designated spot at the inn with pet shampoo and a hair dryer for drying dogs off. When we went for a walk outside, we could see Mt. Omuroyama up close. We were very satisfied from start to finish, and I'd love to come back. I stayed with my beloved Sheltie, and could bring my dog everywhere, from the room and meals to both private baths. The owners and staff were kind and had made the inn very pet-friendly. The room was clean and well equipped, with pet beds, a roller, food bowls, and pet sheets, as well as a hair dryer for people. In the private baths, you could bring your dog in and have him wait there. Knowing he could stay with me made me feel at ease, and they even provided a chair for him. The food was delicious and filling. You could order dinner or breakfast for your dog when you arrived, so I ordered dinner. The hamburger steak, chicken fillet, sweet potato mash, and broccoli were nicely presented, and my dog devoured it all.
