Our host was the highlight, really helpful and keen to show us around. She even offered to drive us to a restaurant, and gave us two sets of garden postcards when we left. The garden has some really interesting structures, though we didn't have enough time to enjoy it properly. The coastal walk entrance is only a 9minutes walk away. We had a clean, spacious little home with a living room and bedroom, rustic inside, and a roomy bathroom with a tub you can set up as an onsen. The bed and pillow were comfortable, but the blanket was too thick for mid March spring weather. We only noticed late at night, so if you need a lighter one, ask the host during office hours. There was also a slightly noisy ozone filter at night. Getting to the room means walking downstairs from the carpark along an outdoor path, about 30 steps, with lights that turn on automatically. Overall, a comfortable private space with a friendly host, though the walk and bedding may be a mild inconvenience.

The hosts were so helpful and accommodating, and the hot spring baths were a lovely surprise. This is a unique, wonderful place close to nature and restaurants, with everything we needed. It felt like a little slice of heaven. We can't wait to return someday!

The people here are really friendly, and even drove us to the end of the trail without us asking so we could walk it back. Jogasaki coast trail is just a five minute walk away, with stunning views along the water. The garden is lovely, full of nice little corners, and the small onsen has flowers above the bath. The house is tiny but works well, with one plate for cooking.

The kind couple who run the hotel made it feel like staying with family. During our three days, they kept picking us up at the station, taking us back, and driving us shopping in their car, always with a lovely smile. The place itself feels like being in a tropical garden, with wooden tables, green leaves, and all kinds of flowers. There's also a beautiful little spot with a botanical garden feel, plus a free onsen you can book for private use, alone or with your family, without mixing with other guests. I'm so glad we booked here. I highly recommend it and would definitely come back to see more of Shimoda. Jogasaki coast is about a 20 minute walk away.

The room is basically a whole apartment, with a kitchenette, living room, separate bedroom, and a bathroom with a tap for the onsen water. They have their own onsen source. Outside there are lots of nice features: a greenhouse, garden, onsen, foot bath, and outdoor dining area. It's a beautiful tropical-style setting, and this little cabin hotel is right near Jogasaki.
