After 13 years of coming to Japan, this was the best dinner I’ve had.
The room was lovely, and I slept really well. It had a private onsen with a Pacific Ocean view, very comfortable and just the right size for two. We also booked dinner, and it was incredible Asian fusion. Every dish was amazing, and I think it was worth more than the price. There was a great dessert and even an onigiri midnight snack, which we ate for breakfast and loved. They have lots of amenities, including different shampoos, conditioner and hair oil, plus a manga corner where you can borrow books for your room. Definitely worth every penny. I’d recommend it.
I’d love to come back. We were a couple with schedules that rarely lined up, so we’d been searching for an ocean-view hotel with an in-room bath and finally found this one. Though it’s a hotel, it looks like a single-family home. Inside, it was quiet, clean, warm and homey. There were plenty of amenities, and choosing the ones we wanted to bring to our room was fun. The room had an Asian feel and a water server, which was handy. The Asian food was delicious, with local Izu fish and spiny lobster, and no cilantro dishes. The spacious in-room bath was comfortable. At night the ocean side is pitch black, so bathing under the stars was a wonderful memory. Soaking while watching the sunrise the next morning was so refreshing it gave me goosebumps. There was a big manga selection, including all the latest volumes, which showed how much the owner loves manga.
It’s a relaxing place to enjoy the hot springs, though it isn’t exactly luxurious. The location can be tricky to find, and while the room is spacious, there’s only a small sofa, so you end up sitting on the tatami. You have to pick up the amenities you need from the first floor, and I had to make several trips, haha. The bathroom and toilet are in the same building. There are two bath towels per person, but they’re in baskets, leaving nowhere to put your clothes while changing. A shelf or something on the wall would help. The bath was a comfortable temperature, but the tub is high, so anyone under 160 cm or elderly should watch their step to avoid slipping. The Asian-inspired food was carefully made and tasty. I especially liked the abalone porridge at breakfast. Pho came at the start of dinner, though I thought it would have gone better with the nasi goreng served later.
The guest room’s view and semi-open-air bath are both lovely, and there’s a convenience store just a short walk away, so it’s handy enough. It had been quite a while since my last stay, and I was impressed that the service level had stayed almost the same. It’s a wonderful inn where you can feel the care in the details.
