Hotel Areaone Izumo

The hotel is right beside Izumo Station, so the location is great. I paid 6,100 yen per night on a weekday for a selected room without meals. The room was nice, and the staff were polite and kind. The only thing that concerned me was that the water was very hot even when set to 40 degrees. Other than that, no issues. There’s no parking, so you’ll need a coin parking lot if you come by car. Train travelers will have no problem.

I always stay here on business trips to Shimane. The rooms are clean and more than adequate for work, and there’s a pleasant scent as soon as you enter that puts you at ease.

Discounted tickets for bathing at Lamp no Yu are available at the front desk, and it was so good I went two days in a row. The staff were very polite and helpful. When I left my key in the room, they sorted it out quickly. There’s high-quality shampoo in the amenity corner, and you can take a small amount back to your room. Breakfast’s flying fish dashi soup was delicious. The location is great, and I’d like to stay here again when I visit Izumo.

I was here for work. The price was reasonable, so I’d put it at around 3.5. The front desk was friendly, the renovated rooms were nice, and you can choose activities at the front desk. Noise is the problem. There’s no large public bath, the walls are thin enough that you hear neighbors, and the standard sash windows let in outside sounds. There’s a convenience store across the street, and construction next door meant I could hear heavy machinery at 8am. If you’re sensitive to noise, I wouldn’t recommend it. Otherwise it’s a good option, close to the station with a convenience store right across the street.
