It’s good value and less than a 10-minute walk from the station. Convenience stores, restaurants, and drugstores along the way make it a handy place to stay, and they offer a variety of services. The rooms are clean, and the unit bath is quite spacious and can be filled with hot water. There are steps in the hallways from the second floor upward, so wheelchair users should check that beforehand.

We stayed here as a family on our trip to Izumo. The exterior looked a little old at first and made us wonder, but inside was clean and comfortable. Our Japanese-style room was very large, probably a large room, and had two toilets, so we could relax easily. Izumo Station is nearby, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and drugstores around.

I found the best deal by booking through the hotel’s website, although the available plans seemed limited. I’d use them again. I had a very pleasant three-night business stay overall. This is a locally owned hotel, rather than one of the business chains you see all over the country in front of Izumo Station. Since I was on a local business trip, it suited me to stay somewhere like this. It’s just under 10 minutes from the station and directly across from the hospital. The downtown area and city hall are both about five minutes away. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautiful compared with other business hotels I know. The warm lighting is relaxing, and the futons are fluffy. There’s a unit bath in the room, but I recommend the public bath on the 4th floor. I could stretch my legs and soak up to my shoulders, which really eased my fatigue. The attached restaurant has a wide-ranging menu, and the rice is delicious. The local staff are kind and friendly. I recommend the 790-yen breakfast, which has lots of options and a choice of Japanese or Western food. I liked hearing a loud “Have a nice day!!” as I left. A few small things bothered me: the breakfast side dishes were cold, though I personally found that acceptable and some people might mind; the toilet paper was hard; and I didn’t realize how to use the room entry and exit card, which you insert and remove immediately. The instructions were printed on the card, but the text was too small to read.

My dinner plan didn’t include a meal, but I stopped at the restaurant beside the front desk and ended up more satisfied than I might have been with the set dinner. There was a wide choice, the ingredients were fresh and apparently local, and everything was delicious. The staff were friendly, and I drank way too much. It was a bit disappointing that the large public bath was for men only, perhaps because business travelers make up many of the guests. Still, this hotel might be a hidden gem. (241023-24)

July 6, 2024 It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the station. There’s free parking in front for around 10 cars, plus more parking on the unpaved area beside the hotel. A drugstore and convenience store are within walking distance by the station, and a supermarket is reachable by car. The building is new, and the lobby is simple and uncluttered. Smoking and non-smoking areas were properly separated, and I didn’t run into the usual secondhand smoke issue at the entrance. Free parking was very helpful. When I checked in and entered the room, the air conditioning was already on and the room was cool, a welcome touch at this time of year. The first-floor restaurant and fourth-floor large public bath are available, though the bath is for men only. Rooms have sleepwear and towels; toothbrushes and razors can be picked up at the front desk as needed. Laundry service costs 500 yen per use. There’s also a kettle, air purifier, tea, tissues, refrigerator, and hair dryer. The room keys are printed with the dates of the stay, and a password is provided with good strength. The card key’s magnetic force was weak, so I couldn’t carry it with devices that emit radio waves, like a cellphone. The table was a little small.
