The meals were delicious, and walking to the restaurant in our robes really added to the ryokan atmosphere. I tried Shine Muscat grapes for the first time and loved them. They were also accommodating when I booked a massage at the last minute. Our room had a private onsen, and guests could use the public one too. I love onsens, so I went to check it out and was delighted to find it completely empty. Such a peaceful, relaxing soak. The hotel was beautiful and ryokan-inspired, and we had a wonderful stay overall. I'd give the room itself three stars because we were assigned two double beds, which wasn't what we preferred. There are private onsens you can reserve, but you need to book ahead. We hadn't realized that, so keep it in mind.

The kaiseki dinner was incredible, especially the steak course, and we also booked the private onsen, which was wonderfully relaxing. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with its own onsen on the balcony. The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive throughout. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this ryokan for a relaxing getaway.

It's beautiful and very relaxing, with great staff. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. The rooms are gorgeous, and most of the kaiseki meals were top notch, though a couple of sashimi pieces were a little mealy. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The location is lovely but there's not much within walking distance. It works well for a quiet retreat, but look elsewhere if you want to walk around and shop, or be ready to drive. The main downside is the price. One thing to watch when booking: Japanese hotels charge room rates per person, so the rates shown on their websites are multiplied by the number of people staying. Meals work the same way. Check your confirmation email for the expected total. This may be less of an issue with a third-party booking app.

The staff were amazing, friendly, and so helpful. We spent two nights here with dinner and breakfast, and the food was sooo good. The room was fabulous, overlooking a forested valley, and had a hot bath on the balcony. Such a relaxing stay. K.
