Hotel Sunflex Kagoshima

The view over the main street is nice, and the rooms are a good size. Staff were polite and attentive. The hotel is a little far from the station if you’re walking, but otherwise it’s great.

The room was on the small side but had the basics, including daily bottles of drinking water. A convenience store is just behind the hotel. Shopping and places to eat are a minute’s walk away, and the pier is close enough for an early trip to the offshore islands. One surprise for drivers: the carpark building next door isn’t operated by the hotel. You’ll need to park in the other block across the road.

The hotel was clean, well equipped, fairly priced, and in a great location, with a lounge serving drinks. But I especially want to thank Miss Awada (sorry if misspelled), who helped us at the front desk on 28/08/2024. Because of the typhoon, we needed refunds for upcoming hotels, ferries, and flights. With no access to a landline and the language barrier, sorting it all out was difficult. She kindly made several calls on our behalf and made sure we could get the refunds. I feel she went beyond her duties, and we really appreciate her time and generosity. Her help left us with positive feelings about Kagoshima. I’d highly recommend staying here. Thank you again!
