The evening curry is a nice extra, served free at 7 PM while supplies last. The hotel is tucked into the Tenmonkan area and has a fairly roomy lobby, with the front desk set apart from a small dining space. It was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable, though not especially large. Kagoshima-Chuo Station is easy to reach, which works well for exploring locally or continuing onward. A practical, comfortable place with a few thoughtful touches.

Free curry every day at 8 pm. FREE CURRY. Words can’t do the taste justice. You’ll have to enjoy it for yourselves.

We couldn’t leave our bags at reception on check-out day. The nearest 24-hour coin lockers were a long way off, there were hardly any available, and they only fit small bags.

There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, since the hotel is right in the entertainment district. The price was reasonable and the rooms were a good size. Breakfast was a remarkably good Japanese buffet, with food made fresh each morning and Kagoshima specialties such as seared bonito. The restaurant staff member they called “auntie” was very kind and friendly.

There are lots of restaurants to pick from and a few supermarkets close by, with most places within a 5-20 minute walk. The rooms and washrooms were clean and quiet. I liked having pillow options, complimentary mineral water, tea, and other amenities. My only small gripe was the green glow from the light switches beside the bed when they’re off. A pillow placed over it or an eye mask solves that. There’s no smart TV.
