I really enjoyed my stay, especially for what I paid for the room.
There was a nice restaurant nearby, which was a relief since there aren't many places to eat around here. I stayed after SSTR, and it took about 30 minutes to get from Chirihama via the bypass. I was a little worried after reading other reviews, but the hotel turned out to be very good. The room had a hanger bar that made it easy to hang up clothes, and there was coffee and tea in the shared area, plus a coin laundry on the first floor. Breakfast was included, and I was happy with the price.
I booked at the last minute, so it was a big help that they still had a room available. The price was reasonable, and while the service wasn't anything special, it was quiet enough for me to get some sleep. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
There aren't any convenience stores nearby, so when dinner took a turn for the worse, I was stuck waiting. The Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel took an hour to bring my ramen and shrimp fried noodles. I checked whether the order had gone through, but nobody asked the kitchen to hurry; they just waited for it to be ready. It was odd that someone who came in later got their food and left first. When I finally got my food, I asked for mustard and received only a teaspoonful. I thought, “That’s four bucks!” I wanted to eat quickly and watch the fireworks, but the delay ruined that plan. For the room price, everyone seemed to be eating and drinking heartily in the restaurant, so it was frustrating to get a boxed breakfast that felt so careless. They said it was because of COVID-19 and would be left outside the room. It had some roughly torn lettuce, grilled salted sardines, a slice of ham, boiled daikon radish, white rice, and thin, cold miso soup. Sardines, and just one slice of ham? Apparently the owner is Chinese, but if they can't run both the hotel and restaurant reasonably well, they should quit one of them. I won't stay here again and don't recommend it. I included a photo of the breakfast, though I'd already eaten half of it. The entrance makes the hotel look spacious and even luxurious, but the guest rooms are dim. The unit bath's shower curtain was moldy and smelled musty. I later read some bad reviews about the private bath on the first floor, so I'm glad I didn't use it. There were mugs in the room, but no drinks.
The president welcomed us cheerfully and even lent us a freezer for our fishing ice packs. 👍 The bathroom was big enough for a family bath, and the Chinese restaurant next door looked popular and was packed. I thought the price was almost too reasonable for a room-only stay. But I really couldn't stand the stuffy air in the hallway leading to the guest rooms.
