I usually keep quiet about small complaints, but this stay caught me off guard enough to write about it. The room itself is roomy, though the bathroom and toilet are ridiculously cramped. Sitting on the toilet, the paper is out of reach, and showering seems likely to leave you soaked. I waited around five minutes for the water to heat, then gave up and only washed my hair. The bathroom light was out too, though I’ve stopped bothering to mention that sort of thing. What really put me off was the front desk. I’ve stayed in plenty of old, inexpensive hotels and never had someone repeatedly warn me like this. They explained the place would be unattended from 9 p.m., there’d be no morning checkout, and leaving without the key meant paying for the whole night. I understand they may not want late-night calls, but the way it was delivered felt scary. The facilities are dated, which I can accept for the price, but the service was awful. I stay at business hotels for work often, and I won’t come back. In the parking lot, traffic cones have room numbers and guests’ names written on them in large letters.
