We had a wonderful time here last November. It’s a spacious, beautiful apartment by the sea, about a two-minute walk from the beach and less than 10 minutes from the nearest Enoden station.

The place was clean, and it’s very well located right by the beach. Some things feel a little dated, but we had a great stay.

The road nearby gets very busy and noisy at night, especially with motorbikes, and there are lots of signs telling you what not to do. It doesn’t have much charm, but it’s a nice place for a night or two. Parking is available under the building for 1500 per day, a bit less than public parking.

A nice spot right by the beach.

The main reason I picked this place was to relax and feel at home instead of being in a cramped twin hotel room. Check-in happens at a restaurant about five minutes away, where I picked up the key before heading to the house. The building is old, though the inside has been renovated with blue curtains and surf-style wall decor. My room was upstairs on the second floor. Downstairs was cluttered with old things, including a bicycle and table, and had about three doors, so it felt more like a storage area. The house seemed well cleaned, but the emergency lantern had no batteries and didn’t work. I wish they had checked the amenities more carefully. The kitchen can be used for cooking, but there aren’t even basic seasonings, so you have to bring your own or eat unseasoned food. Depending on the time of day, sunlight can be glaring at the counter even with the short white curtains closed. The stools have no backs, and with the wall behind them the space feels a bit oppressive, not somewhere to sit and relax for long. The TV is also set up to watch from the counter. In the bedroom there are two single beds, a big sofa, and a lamp. There are no outlets by the beds, which makes it hard to keep a phone close and charge it overnight. The beds felt a little narrow even for singles, and the comforters are about the same width as the beds, so they may come untucked if you’re larger or toss and turn. There are two Japanese-style rooms too. One is bright and relaxing. The other has dim lighting, and a torn edge of the tatami looked so much like a pile of long women’s hair that I had to look twice, haha. The toilet is near the entrance, so it gets cold. It has a heated seat but no washlet. The bathtub seems fairly new, is deep, and has room to stretch your legs, so that felt great. There was mold in the bathroom, though, and the chair and bucket looked heavily used. The dressing area has a roomy, bright sink and disposable amenities. The washing machine is off limits. The stairs to the roof are bright with daylight, but dim at night even with the light on, and they smell strongly of mold. The roof is spacious and you can see the sea. To sit out there comfortably you’d need to bring your own chairs and table. It looked so little used and rather dirty that I felt hesitant about using it. The neighborhood is quiet, so if you want to have fun with friends, keep in mind that your voices will carry. There’s no outside entrance light either, so at night turn on the light inside before going out, or it’s hard to use the stairs and lock the door in the dark. I don’t think I’d recommend this place to others, and I wouldn’t book it again.
