Villa Kamakura

Traveling with two teenage girls, we found the space big enough for everyone. Toshi was incredibly kind and accommodating, and communication was easy and very quick. The third-floor views were beautiful, and the place is easy to get around from, with a Family Mart right around the corner. Toshi explained how to use everything and suggested local restaurants. We tried Venus Cafe and loved it. Towels, toothbrushes, cooking utensils, coffee, spices and more were all provided, well beyond what we expected. Thanks, Toshi, for a wonderful stay.

This was my second stay here, and it was wonderful again. Toshi answered questions quickly and was very helpful, with great guides to the area, including hiking. Check-in was easy, the beds were comfortable, and the residence was quiet with an ocean view. There's a long beach you can walk along to watch surfers and the sunrise. It's easy to find, five minutes from the train station and a short walk from Hasedera Temple and the Giant Buddha. There are excellent restaurants nearby. This is my favorite place to stay in Kamakura.

Our only complaint is that Villa Kamakura set the bar so high that nowhere else we stayed came close. It was clean and comfortable, with fantastic facilities, including a washer and dryer. They even had little backpacks with drink bottles and seats to borrow, plus heaps of sightseeing information. The walk to the station is a little longer, but it's flat and pleasant through quiet streets. We'd give it more stars if we could.

We loved all the thoughtful details in the airbnb apartment, like the great hair dryers, automatic rubbish bin and automatic toilet. Best of all was the amazing view.
