WeBase Kamakura Hotel

The beach is only about two minutes away, and the breakfast was amazing. Everything was very clean, the staff were great, and the free afternoon food and drinks were a nice touch. During the unusually rare tsunami warning, hotel staff walked us to the evacuation center. Couldn’t ask for better.

The breakfast was the surprise highlight: they made it in front of us, with a tasty mix of Japanese and Western dishes, then served a small dessert in the courtyard. We had a spacious room for four by Japanese standards, including a large bath, and there’s a pleasant public bath as well. The location works well, with the beach a few minutes away, the local train station a little farther, and good restaurants nearby. Kamakura itself is well worth a visit. I’d gladly return to this hotel on my next Japan trip.

The beach is a three-minute walk, and the neighborhood is lovely. The rooms are clean and look great, with L'occitane amenities for both day and night. There’s a hot spring, sauna, and rental bikes, plus free water bottles. They also put out food and drinks in the evening and morning. Totally recommend!

Breakfast is a tasty multi-course spread, from appetizers and salad through soup, a main, optional curry, and dessert. In the late afternoon, the lounge has sweet snacks and a daily cocktail, alcoholic or not. There’s also a lovely shared bath downstairs. It’s a nice little hotel, close to the beach but some distance from central Kamakura. A cute train near the hotel runs to Kamakura Station about every 15 minutes. The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards, thoughtfully laid out and spotless, with nice Aquitaine amenities. Highly recommended.
