Genroku

The Kani Kani Express day trip went smoothly thanks to the shuttle to Satsuma Station. The crabs were all delicious, as were the chiffon cake afterward and the rice porridge made from the leftover hot pot soup. I had a nice, relaxing time.

It was probably a cold snap, since there weren’t many other guests. Even with our kids along, we could take our time in the bath and enjoy the meal without rushing. The crab was delicious, and after finishing the rice porridge when we were already full, we still had the landlady’s chiffon cake. Breakfast’s soy milk hot pot was fantastic too. I couldn’t find any Wi-Fi, and it would be nice if they had it. We’d like to come back next year.

The food has a lovely, rich dashi flavor, and crab fans can enjoy it in summer as well as winter. They serve a small amount of crab in summer, which makes you think, “You can have crab even then?” The sea is right behind the inn, so it’s a great spot if you love the ocean. Even after checking out in summer, they’ll let you use the bath, just the shower, if you’ve been to the beach. It’s a very accommodating place. You can enjoy crab twice a year.

The crab was delicious, and of course the homemade chiffon cake! We had the bath all to ourselves, so we could relax (^^). The building is quite old, but I think the inside is well kept. There’s also a beach nearby for a leisurely stroll, and we had a wonderful time ♪
