The rough is really tough, so it can be hard to find your ball and play it once you do. The course is nicely designed, with carts allowed on the fairways, and there aren’t too many undulations considering how far into the hills above Kamogawa it is. There’s a hotel on site. It’s a very nice course deep in Chiba Prefecture, worth a visit if you fancy a trek into deepest Chiba.

A really fun course to play, and I’ll be back to golf here. The pro shop building and restaurant are very nice too.

The room was enormous, almost like a little house, and probably bigger than our home in Tokyo. The location is stunning and breakfast was good. We had to leave early because my daughter was sick, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even refunded the charge for the second night in full, which surprised me and left me very impressed. Really nice place and great staff.

I was very glad that ice for ice packs was already available for the early morning round, and the front desk seemed to open at 5:15. I visited on an August weekend after someone I met at another golf course recommended it. My playing partners gave it excellent reviews, and it seems to be a favorite for everyone. The main downside is the long lunch break: two hours on Saturdays, and one hour for an early Sunday round. I’d seen that mentioned in online reviews, so I was somewhat prepared.

The mountain road to the course was a little scary, but the golf course and hotel were beautiful, with the luxury of a bubble-era facility. Some areas are self-service, which seems to help keep labor costs down. Prices were reasonable, and I’d definitely return if I got the chance. I stayed overnight and played two rounds.
