The pet friendly touches made this a really comfortable stay. There’s a pet seat on the toilet and two feeding bowls, and we only needed to bring pee mats from home. My dog is male, so I also put down a picnic tarp to prevent splashes. We could park right in front, which made quick shopping trips easy and meant our spot was still there when we came back. Loading luggage for the trip home was easy too. It felt much more comfortable than a hotel. We’re just my wife, our dog, and me, so the layout worked well for us. Downstairs is a living, dining, and kitchen area, plus a separate toilet and a bathroom with a dressing room and washing machine. Upstairs, connected by the stairs, are five single beds. There’s air conditioning on both floors and a gas fan heater downstairs, so it warms up quickly. Heat gathers upstairs because the floors are connected, so you have to adjust the temperature carefully for sleeping, perhaps by leaving a window open a little. The kitchen has a rice cooker, dishes, and cutlery, so I had no complaints. Katamachi, the downtown area, is about a 10 minute walk away. I later learned that there are several well-regarded restaurants along the way. I used to assume they were just country restaurants with nothing special compared with downtown places, but I’d like to try them next time. I found this private lodging while looking for somewhere to stay with my dog. For check-in, you go to the main hotel in front of Kanazawa Station, pay there, and get a number for the entrance key. If there are no problems at checkout, you can just leave. I’d definitely use this place again.
