Hotel New Green Kashiwazaki

I was in Kashiwzaki for work, as many visitors to these hotels were, coming for jobs tied to the nuclear power plant. With the plant not fully operating now, I doubt the hotels get a lot of guests. The main reason I'd give this place any credit is its location near the train station. 2/5. My room was clean and a standard size for a Japanese business hotel, but the bed was awful, like sleeping on concrete. The place felt stuck in the mid-1990s. There was a TV channel advertising “free adult movies” after a certain hour. The bathroom was clean enough, but you have to close the door while showering or the steam apparently sets off the smoke detectors. The free Wi-Fi was so slow it barely worked, which was the most frustrating part for me. There's a sad-looking restaurant on the ground floor, but I never tried it, and breakfast wasn't included. The front desk staff weren't rude, just not very willing to go out of their way. Our large group had booked a big share of the rooms, yet nobody could check in early when we arrived. That was frustrating, and I can't imagine the hotel had been so full the night before.
