Toyoko Inn Keihin-kyuko Kawasaki Ekimae

A clean, well-organized, standard business hotel. There’s lots of food and a shopping mall within a five-minute walk, and getting here from Haneda Airport is easy. I’d come back sometime.

The room was kept very clean and felt comfortable. Mine was a small, inexpensive room beside the elevator, with a standard single bed, shower and toilet, but no bathtub. It’s about a 10-minute walk to JR Kawasaki Station. Parking is at Timely in front of the hotel, and it seems you can leave the car there for 24 hours for 1000 yen after entering. Breakfast had several kinds of bread, which suits bread fans, though I think people used to breakfast at other Toyoko Inn hotels might find it lacking. If soaking in a tub matters to you, this probably isn’t the place.

The bathroom had an odd smell that bothered me. Maybe I just got an unlucky room, since it was otherwise the usual Toyoko Inn room. It’s a little way from Kawasaki Station, but still walkable. I’d thought JR. Kawasaki Station meant JR East, but it turns out this is a small Toyoko Inn. I didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t say what it’s like, though it seems simple. Prices appear lower than at other hotels. The location and price would probably bring me back, but I’d be wary after this experience.

Keikyu Kawasaki station is right beside the hotel, which works especially well if you’re coming in by plane. Toyoko’s breakfast is bread only, but I eat bread there anyway, so that’s fine with me. I’ll definitely come back.
