The outside baths were the highlight and made our stay feel perfect. The building itself is pretty, with a lovely scent and atmospheric music. We only tried breakfast, and it was very good. Even before we arrived for our trip to the kawaii waterfalls, the service was outstanding. Communication was flexible and friendly. Thanks so much for having us!

I still think about those hot baths now that I'm home. The ryokan is tucked away in Izu, and has two hot baths open around the clock. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful, with great hospitality and spectacular food. Dinner came to our room in traditional Japanese courses, which was a fun experience. You could see how much care the staff put into the meals and their work. Breakfast the next morning was just as good and a lovely way to start the day. I can't recommend this place enough.

The facilities are a little old, but everything was very clean. I especially liked having a private onsen, which is particularly useful for people with tattoos who are barred from public onsens. The host kindly showed us how to eat the dinner in the traditional way. I understand why some guests in the comments felt annoyed by being told what and how to eat, but I appreciated the guidance. The meal had clearly been prepared with care. Both breakfast and dinner, included in the room price, were VERY delicious. There was plenty of very fresh fish, so much that I didn't want any the next day 😝. Seafood lovers should enjoy it. The host also took photos of us during the meal and in front of the entrance, and gave us a pair of tea cups when they learned we were on our honeymoon. Gorgeous. The hospitality was exceptional. If you want Japanese food and a futon-style room, this is a place to try.

I loved every second of my stay and can't wait to return. The spacious rooms have great sea views, and the train station is easy to get to. There are also two private onsens available. The staff were incredibly kind, the food was delicious, and the hospitality was unparalleled. A must-stay in Izu.
