Kanehide supermarket is very close, which made shopping easy. For the price, I thought the place was reasonable considering where it is. I stayed two nights, three days, with the ocean right there in front. At low tide, even small children can play. The rocky spots have coral and lovely fish, and there’s a fair amount of sea glass on the shore, which could be fun if you like collecting it. There were condiments in the fridge, but some didn’t look new. Maybe earlier guests had left them, though I can’t say for sure. If that would bother you, bring your own.

The place matches the pictures, with the ocean right in front, a clean and spacious interior, a pool, and convenient, well-equipped amenities. It’s a bit far from the tourist sights. The nearby restaurants are small and around the US military base, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend it for a family vacation. One thing to keep in mind: the BBQ costs over 40,000 yen, which feels a little expensive, and it uses gas rather than charcoal.

A quiet stretch of Okinawa on the Pacific side can feel like your own, especially when avoiding crowds matters. Onna Village and the East China Sea side are famous and fun, but the beaches here have that more private feel. You can stretch out on the beach chairs beside the private pool, listening to the ocean and letting time pass slowly. This is something like a villa cottage. Coming in from the heat, I was greeted by an air-conditioned living room with a lovely white and dark brown interior. The glass-walled bathroom felt open and luxurious. Kin Town is known for taco rice, so you could pick some up and eat it here, or use the BBQ set for a meal by the pool. The highway is close, so getting around isn’t inconvenient. It’s also a lovely place for Instagram photos.
