Hokohouse

We went to Okinawa last month, on November 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. My second child had so much fun playing that he wouldn’t go to bed on time.

The kids were very happy during our first stay at a private lodging in Okinawa, and there were lots of things to keep them entertained. The only trouble was that parking a large car was a bit difficult.

Parking right in front of the entrance made unloading so much easier than at a hotel, especially with all our luggage. The beach was close and empty, so it felt like we had some private time there, and we were grateful to borrow a parasol. At some times of day, seaweed and shells made the beach a little hard to walk on, so we borrowed beach sandals from Hoko House. In daytime it wasn’t much of an issue, and the water was beautiful for swimming. We also rented the large shared pool, where the kids played. Everything was easy to do and simple to prepare. We’d been looking forward to Hoko House for a long time, and stayed with our three children, ages 5, 2, and 0. We wanted a place the kids would enjoy, with a good floor for the baby to crawl on and a kitchen where we could cook. Hotels didn’t quite meet all those needs. When we arrived, it smelled wonderful, and the kids were thrilled as soon as they opened the room door. They loved the car bed and wallpaper. Upstairs, they found a secret hideout-like nook at the back of the tatami room and immediately started playing with their toys. That gave the adults time to unpack, and we were impressed by how smoothly the housework flowed. It even made us dream about living in a home like this. We could tell the owner takes great care of the house. Our family loved the hammock too, and having a bathtub was a real plus with a baby. Thank you so much for everything!

The ocean is right in front, and this was such a relaxing stay. The owner is kind and friendly, so you can count on them if you need anything. The rooms have thoughtful touches beyond what’s listed on Airbnb, and they’re really comfortable for families with young children. I can’t believe there’s a homestay this relaxing and family-friendly! My family basically only stays at this owner’s homestays. 😂👍
