My friend and I had a great stay. The room was warm and very clean, and the owners were welcoming and friendly. In winter, if you’re not comfortable driving at night, they provide a shuttle to and from nearby restaurants and the onsen. We’ll definitely come back when we return to Hokkaido.

The rooms were comfortable even in summer, and the place was quiet and peaceful. The owners made the whole stay feel welcoming. On our first night, they even drove us to dinner and took a lovely photo of us outside with the beautiful night sky behind us. It exceeded what we expected, and I’d definitely recommend it!

I was disappointed by my stay at Kiyosato Ihatov Hostel in May. At 7:30 in the morning, staff wouldn’t turn on the heater even after I asked. That was inconvenient, especially since guests depend on amenities like heating in cooler weather, and it left me with a poor impression of the place. The other issue was the 10:30 PM lockout. After that, guests couldn’t use the common areas and were directed back to their rooms, which felt like being made to turn in for the night. It was frustrating and left very little chance to socialize or enjoy the hostel in the evening.

It’s a lovely spot out in the countryside around Kiyosato town. The owner and his wife are really nice, and they’ll take you to the onsen or restaurant if you want. The place is clean, and when the weather’s good they’ll take your picture under an amazing starry sky. Highly recommended!

It’s in a beautiful, very quiet location, and the hotel is super clean. The owners are lovely and kind, and they make you feel at home. There’s good WiFi, a nice common room, and a small kitchen area guests can use. They also offer free shuttles into town if you need dinner or want to go to a supermarket.
