We had the Shabu Shabu Kobe beef dinner as part of our package, and both dinner and breakfast were very good. The staff were great: they took us to our room and explained the hotel, bath hours, and meal times in detail. I tried the Gold and Silver onsens, though I don't really know how the two types differ. The location is excellent, right by the bus terminal, with the river and famous red bridge directly in front.

We had high hopes for our one-night stay in a traditional Japanese room with dinner and breakfast, and the hotel lived up to them. The room was spacious and clean, the food tasted fresh, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The large top-floor onsens could easily accommodate 30 people, and the changing room was well equipped and clean.

The outdoor silver onsen was a lovely experience, especially looking up at the stars. The indoor gold bath was relaxing and cool, though a little small. Both the gold, or kinsen, and silver, or ginsen, baths were really nice. We booked a room with dinner and breakfast. Dinner came with a wide range of traditional Japanese dishes, from sides to the main course, featuring Kobe beef. We could choose shabu-shabu hot pot or sukiyaki with fresh egg. It was fine, but nothing especially memorable. Breakfast was nice, with grilled fish, side dishes, miso soup and white rice. You could ask for more rice. The ryokan feels antique, and the service was very nice.
