Log Home Pension Wood Inn

We went in for pizza on a rainy night and had a really enjoyable meal, though I can’t comment on the rooms. The service was the best we’ve had in Japan, and that’s saying something. The Margherita was brilliant, with plenty of cheese, tomato sauce, fresh tomato, and a good amount of basil. It had a nice thin crust and came on a steel plate set into wood to keep it piping hot. Great pizza and service, and we’d definitely go back.

A clean, cozy little wooden cabin inn among the onsen hotels nearby. Ms Mishie （maybe owner）was friendly and helpful. My Japanese is limited, so I wish I could have chatted with her more. She makes homemade food for tea time, dinner, and breakfast, and the western-style dishes were amazing. There’s no shower or bath in the inn, but they provide a ticket for a nearby bathhouse about a 10-minute walk away. It was a good stay for a fair, budget-friendly price for the area.

I popped in for a short break while exploring the area on a rental bike. The warm wooden exterior made the place inviting. There was a huge menu, from coffee beans and brewing methods to creative dishes, soft drinks, tea, desserts, and even Thai curry. Hard to choose, lol. I got a cafe latte and chocolate scone and caught up with an old friend. The scone was quite soft. I was surprised to find out it also operates as lodging, and the dedicated Dutch coffee machine caught my eye.

I noticed this restaurant while driving by and liked how it looked, so I stopped in. The pizza was delicious, and the place had a really nice atmosphere.
