The friendly staff and very good breakfast were highlights, and the hotel is an easy short walk from Yunoyama station. I had fun chatting with staff in English and trying out the few Japanese phrases I know, even though the conversation was a bit rocky. It was my first time booking a Japanese style room, so maybe I missed something, but it didn’t have a shower even though the booking site seemed to say it did. Luckily, we could switch to a Western style room. The room itself was just so-so. It smelled strongly of cigarettes, like the rest of the hotel, and the bathroom and bathtub were moldy. For the room price, I expected better.

A budget hotel with nice service and delicious meals. It’s a little aged, but very clean. There are two indoor onsens and one open-air onsen, and it’s only a few minutes by car to Gozaisho Ropeway station.

Hotel Wellness has an onsen open to visitors. It’s a bit older, with an indoor area and a small outdoor pool, separated by gender. Getting there from the train station takes a bit of a walk.

I came for an onsen bath and had a wonderful time at this amazing hotel. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy yourself, and the food is great too. I highly recommend it!

I used the onsen for the day. The price was reasonable, and the outdoor bath was comfortable.
