The meals were tasty and there was a good amount of food. The lobby drink and sweet bar was another nice touch. We had a one-night, two-meal plan at Shikanoyu hotel, and all of us had a fantastic stay. Every staff member was friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about their work. Toddlers, older people, and parents could all be happy here. The hotel showed that great service doesn't depend on fancy equipment or facilities. We'd love to stay again.

The rooftop onsen has an exceptional view, though there's no bathroom up there. The room also looks out over a fantastic valley, and the staff were amazing. Meals were included and excellent. I'd rate it 4.5 if I could.

We stayed January 10-13. At first, the good service and food made it seem like a good place, but the room was a huge letdown. Room 516 was infested with bedbugs. I hope they clean it better. Their memo mentioned stink bugs, but these weren't stink bugs.

We stayed at Shikanoyu Hotel in March 2025 ♨️ The retro look is so cute, and the onsen was really relaxing. The outdoor bath was a favorite, and the food was delicious 🍱✨ I'd love to visit again 💕

The Mount Gozaisho ropeway is just a short walk away, and we made some unforgettable Christmas memories here. My wife and I just got back from one night at Shikanoyu, and we'd happily recommend it. We loved the whole stay, from the incredibly friendly, professional staff to the exquisite food and fantastic hot spring bath.
