The meals were fresh and delicious at both dinner and breakfast, and the location was great. This was the best hotel of our Japan trip, well beyond what I expected. I’d strongly recommend it to anyone travelling to see the World Heritage sites. My tip: book a sea-view room with dinner and breakfast included.

The restaurant has a beautiful view, and there’s a large bath on the first floor. It isn’t a hot spring, but I still enjoyed it. The room was quiet, with a comfortable queen-size bed. There aren’t any convenience stores or grocery shops within walking distance, they’re a couple of miles away. I’d recommend staying here if you have a car or bicycle.

The location is hard to beat, about a 10-minute walk from Onigajo and five minutes from the Matsumoto toge -Kumano Kodo trail-. The rooms are a little dated, but the staff were helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was a buffet, and dinner at the on-site restaurant was good.
